e-CRO forms network with five European CROs, Beacon Bioscience
AUSTIN, Texas - June 10, 2003 — ResearchPoint, a rapidly
expanding e-CRO, announced the formation of the ResearchPoint Global
Network (RPGN), composed of five premier European CROs, coupled
with ResearchPoint and its U.S. partner, Beacon Bioscience. RPGN
will provide clients with integrated and expanded development services
within Europe and North America.
In addition to ResearchPoint, RPGN includes TheraGenesis, headquartered
in Karlsrühe, Germany; Russian Clinical Trials, Inc. (RCT),
St. Petersburg, Russia; CamClin, Cambridge, U.K.; North Sweden
Clinical Research Institute, located in Umeå, Sweden; and
Beacon Bioscience headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Each
company functions as a stand-alone organization, but has entered
into a structured partnership offering expanded services to their
clients through the members of this network.
"In response to customers' requests, we have completed this
expansion one full year ahead of schedule. We are excited about
this development, as are our current customers," said John
Farinacci, CEO of ResearchPoint. "This
structure optimizes and expands our ability to offer competitively-priced,
value-added services on a global basis."
Carol Breslauer, Vice President of Operations at ResearchPoint,
and Farinacci have successfully built similar corporate collaborations
in their previous affiliations. "We have leveraged long-standing
professional relationships with groups known for their quality
and with whom we had prior experience, to form this network. We
have found these partnerships, when structured correctly, are extraordinarily
productive," said Breslauer.
"The reputation and global experience of the senior management
at ResearchPoint was what attracted Russian Clinical Trials to
become a partner of the RPGN," said Sumit Seth, Director,
Business Development, RCT.
"The senior management of TheraGenesis and ResearchPoint
have a project operations relationship stretching more than a decade," commented
Udo Hesse, Managing Director of TheraGenesis. "Our team has
produced results that are well-acknowledged by our pharmaceutical,
biotechnology and medical device customers. The formalization of
our collaboration is a natural extension of our joint expertise,
capabilities and commitment."
"Our partners in this network give us substantially expanded
coverage in order to meet the needs of our clients who are demanding
broader and more full-service capabilities," noted Elisabeth
Karlsson, Managing Director of North Sweden Clinical Research Institute.
Beacon Bioscience's CEO, Ted Gastineau, stated "The longstanding
working relationship that we have had with the senior management
team at ResearchPoint was the initial attraction to becoming a
partner with RPGN. The global span of this network complements
our internal technology initiatives relative to remote medical
imaging data access and review from various locations around the
world. The partners in this network allow us to provide our clients
with increased access to the group's unique services and capabilities."
ResearchPoint is an e-CRO, which provides traditional and electronically
enhanced services to the pharmaceutical, biomedical and medical
device industries. ResearchPoint technology initiatives focus on
communication and training as aids to accelerate and improve the
quality of its clinical programs.
