RESEARCHPOINT EXPANDS STAFF;
NAMES VAN CLEAF AS DIRECTOR
AUSTIN, Texas – June 22, 2004 — ResearchPoint, a
full service CRO based in Austin, announced today that Deborah
Van Cleaf has joined the company as Director, Data Quality Monitoring
and Training. A key to the success of ResearchPoint has been its
implementation of the data quality monitoring function, an integration
of the traditional clinical and data operations roles into a single
resource. Van Cleaf will work with Darlene Gaddy, who continues
as Director of Data Operations, to develop and expand this core
service.
“Deb has always advocated comprehensive clinical operations
staff training that includes a strong appreciation and understanding
of data quality control. For this reason, she is an excellent addition
to our cross-training operational model,” said Carol Breslauer,
VP Operations, ResearchPoint. “She also has a customer-centric
viewpoint, and is able to see both the pharma/biotech client and
investigative site as customers. This philosophy permeates her
approach to training so that we can offer resources that understand
their jobs, but also have a greater appreciation of customer service.”
Van Cleaf also has diverse experience in clinical operations spanning
both early- and late-phase clinical development. She joins ResearchPoint
from her most current role as Associate Director of Late Stage
Development at PPD. Previously, Deborah had operational director
roles with INC Research and Quintiles, and the former Pharmaco
LSR.
“In my opinion, many CROs attempt to approach clinical and
data operations in the same manner, regardless of the phase of
the project,” said John Farinacci, President and CEO, ResearchPoint. “Deb’s
experience allows her to incorporate her knowledge of the levels
of rigor required for pre-approval and post-approval studies into
her training. This allows us to stay cost competitive in later-phase
trials while still delivering a high quality product to our clients.”
ResearchPoint is a full service CRO, which combines traditional
and electronically-enhanced services to the pharmaceutical biomedical
and medical device industry. ResearchPoint technology initiatives
have focused on communication and training as aids to accelerate
trials by improving quality.
